Updated: 10:45 a.m. ET North Korea closed its nuclear test site in spectacular fashion Thursday, blasting the site in what one observer described as a "huge explosion." Within hours of the North's demolition of the site, President Trump announced he was canceling a much-anticipated summit between the U.S. and North Korea. "Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time , to have this long planned meeting," the president wrote in a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. International media were assembled in view of the Punggye-ri test site, about 500 meters (1,640 feet) away, according to Sky. North Korea claims it tested six underground nuclear devices at the facility. "You could feel it.
